No Time to Find Ideas?
In a time crunch finding "good" ideas on the internet can sometimes be a daunting task. The sites listed below do a lot of the work for you. Most of the information is categorized by age or content. Enjoy!
Pinterest: www.pinterest.com A file sharing site that allows users to "pin" content and categorize it accordingly.
Teachers Pay Teachers: www.teacherspayteachers.com An open marketplace for teachers to buy, sell and share resources. There are over 67,000 free resources on this site. Despite the title, many teachers use this resource a lot…some of the content has a cost, but most is FREE! Warning: very addictive! Subject/Grade Level Resource Sites: The following links are to website resources that are categorized and allow for easy discovery of content/ideas. |

Impacting Student Learning...
The two info-graphics below offer a new look at Bloom's Taxonomy. One of the challenges of technology integration is to show/model that “technology” is not an "add on" to your curriculum, but a vehicle to assist in achieving building and district mission, vision and goals. There are many ways to accomplish the learning outcomes listed on the “Can You” poster of the orange, and ultimately impact student achievement. Please contact any member of the ASD Tech Team to brainstorm ideas of how we can better use technology integration to simplify the process.
Turn a "Sit and Get" into a "Sit and Go"
Do you have a lesson that is heavy with lecture? What would it take for you to change roles from teacher led to student led instruction? Consider this analogy...If you are driving and your students are in the backseat, you control the destination and path with minimal opportunity for change. However, if your students are driving and you have the map, you will still get to the same destination and the "educational journey" may be different and more meaningful to the student. Look at your lesson objectives and consider opportunities to give your students the "keys". You may have to provide a directional nudge now and then, but you may find the benefit to the learning environment in your classroom is worth the risk! Change a "Sit and Get" into a "Sit and Go"!
